It offers an interactive experience, allowing you to select elements within the menu and adjust corresponding settings or reposition elements by dragging them. Guidelines appear to assist with aligning dragged elements.
4. Zoom Level: The zoom level feature enables you to adjust the magnification of the preview area. This allows for a closer look at details or a broader view of the overall design as you refine your menu.

Creating a menu template with a fascinating video background

To create a menu template with a video background in Toast, follow these straightforward steps:

1. Launch Toast and start a Burn Video project.
2. Enable the Theme button located in the upper left corner.
3. Below the “Design new template” section, click the plus sign.

4. Select Main Menu from the left panel.

5. Click the Template style button and choose a preset style as a starting point.

6. To modify the layout:

• Click the “Change the layout of contents” button.
• Adjust the Rows or Columns values.
• Drag elements in the preview area to new positions.

7. To customize the appearance of preview thumbnails in your template:

• Click the “Change the border style of previews” button. From there, you have options to select None (no border), Preset (choose from a list of predefined styles), Color (apply a color from the Colors window), or Custom (import a frame).

8. To modify the style of navigation icons:

• Click the “Change the button style” button. You can choose between Preset (select from a list of predefined styles) or Custom (choose an individual button from the list and import your desired image).

9. To format text:

• Click the desired placeholder text in the preview area.
• Use the text formatting panel on the right to make adjustments.
• Click the Add text button to insert new text, position it, and format it.

10. To add media (such as photos):

• Click the Insert media button.
• Open the media file, position and size it in the preview area.
• Adjust settings using the panel on the right.

11. To use a video clip as your menu background, follow these steps:

• Select the “Edit the background” option.
• Click the “Add a video or photo as a background” button in the displayed window.
• Choose the video file you want to use by opening it.

You will be requested to trim your video clip if it is longer than 30 seconds.
Please keep in mind that your video should be in.mp4 or.mov format and use the AVC/h.264 or MPEG codec to ensure compatibility. MKV and WMV video files are not supported.

The menu area is automatically filled by your video clip. If you want to display only a specific area, you can use the Crop tool.

12.To modify the music, follow these steps:

• Locate the Edit the music button and select it.
• In the resulting panel, choose the Add audio as music option.
• Select the desired file from your device.

If the clip exceeds 30 seconds, you’ll be asked to trim it. Afterward, you can fine-tune the volume and optionally apply a fade effect.

13.To customize the chapter menu, follow these steps:

• Click on the Chapter Menu option located on the left side.
• Repeat steps 5 to 12 to personalize the chapter menu according to your preferences.

14. Once you have completed creating your template, click on the Next button located in the lower right corner. Then, select the Export option.

15. If you wish to save a project file for future editing, enter a project name when prompted. When the Save window appears, provide a name for your template and save it. The exporting process may take a few moments.
